What vehicles are allowed?

Foreign motorised vehicles (cars, motorcycles, etc.) are allowed temporary entry or re-export through international border gates (road, sea, inland waterway, rail, or air). This is subject to approval from the Ministry of Public Security.

What types of vehicles can be imported?

Right-hand vehicles are not permitted in Vietnam and require a diplomatic note from diplomatic missions, consular offices, or international intergovernmental organisations stating why the vehicle is allowed.

Motorcycles are permitted, but you must also provide:

Copies of original and international driver’s licenses
Passport with valid visa
Photos of the motorcycle
